Special Education

Hillel’s Special Education program was initiated in the fall of 1992 and, since then, has expanded to provide a continuum of support services to students with a broad range of special needs. Our Resource Room/Learning Support Programs provide appropriate combinations of academic support and consultative service to address each child’s specific learning needs, style and pace of learning. Ongoing assistance is provided to classroom teachers to utilize in-class interventions. We strive to include each child with his or her classroom group, while providing tools for academic success. Judaic Support services are provided as well.

The Student Support Team, a multi-disciplinary group comprising rabbis, school administrators and other educators, assesses the needs of children who are experiencing academic or behavioral difficulty. The team acts as an effective support system in developing and implementing appropriate interventions.
