Special Events
Hillel Academy holds several special events each year that create a sense of warmth and belonging for students, famillies, alumni and the entire community. Some, like our Family Shabbos Dinner, enable Hillel families to celebrate holidays together and share in traditional observances. Others, such as special lectures, provide parents with the opportunity to explore important topics like parenting. Still others enable the community to support the school and celebrate educational and communal accomplishments.
Special events include:
Purim
The annual Purim celebration following the Megillah reading and featuring music, food and games.
The Hillel Annual Dinner
A beautiful and elegant evening drawing upwards of 500 participants. The Dinner features a strictly Kosher gourmet meal and a video presentation showcasing our students and highlights of the school year. There is also a tribute to the year’s honorees who have, in the past, included founders of the school and leaders of our community, and to a deserving parent or parents chosen to receive the Hillel Service Award.
The honorees this year were Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey and Lynn Ackerman, and Mr. and Mrs. Jay and Margaret Angel.
Other events include:
- A cultural evening highlighting music and/or art.
- Informational gatherings of parents for enrichment and/or social purposes.
- The Awards Night celebration, set around Chanukah time, features a festive dinner, a Silent Auction, and the selection of the winner of an Israel trip from among all who have purchased raffle tickets.
