Hillel Foundation - Endowed Gifts

The Hillel Academy of Pittsburgh Foundation was established in 2000 as an independent foundation with the goal of creating long-term funding to support the scholarship efforts and programming needs of Hillel Academy. There are currently over a dozen named funds within the Foundation, created by families and in memory of individuals with past connections to the school. The Foundation is governed by an independent board.

The Hillel Foundation provides annual support to the school. In 2008, the Foundation's board authorized scholarship funding of $6656 from the Rabbi Harry Rottenberg Scholarship Fund as well as an additional $4000 from seven named funds. The Donald and Chantz Butler Endowment provided $500 to the school for its annual teacher's award. The Board approved ongoing support from the Environmental Fund for the maintenance of the school's HVAC systems.

At the close of 2007, the Hillel Academy of Pittsburgh Foundation had assets of over $400,000. Working closely with the United Jewish Federation Foundation, these endowment funds are invested to maximize growth for the benefit of the school.
